Germany travels, Part 1#

The way that most of the UK universities are set up is that there is a 3 week break before final exams including what is known as a reading week which is a fancy term for no classes. Also because of the current goverment cuts in education most of the teachers went to go protest in London before the end of the last week. so long story sort we as students have had quite abit of time off to "study," AKA travel to other interesting places around Europe.
I went traveling with two American females for about 9 days from the first to the ninth of April. That was nice because I would be able to come back to Edinburgh for my birthday on the tenth and to see those who didnt go traveling. We flew into Memmington Munich airport, which is one of the greatest pratical jokes in airport history because the airport is infact 120km out side the of Munich. Those funny people down at the international airports with their labeling. After a nice 2 hour train ride through the beautiful Germany country side we arrived at Munich train hub and found our way to our hostel. The hostel was much more a hotel then anything else. Four people a room, bunk beds for more room for activities, high school football lockers and so on. The two girls were in a different room on a different floor.
That first night we took the subway to the main city block in the old city center. The two girls didnt exactly know what to do, but luck for them I was there and it was past 5pm and we were in Germany, not only Germany but Munich. So I already knew what we were going to do and I had been planning it for the past three weeks. So using my amazing sence of direction we found a beergarden/ open air market. We purchased some bratwurst at a market vender, where I experenced my first bit of treachery. I gave the fraulein at the desk a twenty euro note for a 5 euro bratwurst, she gave me 7.50 back. Other then being the worst attemp at trying to trick people out of their money, she was just mean. Even if I had 9 pints under the table I would still notice that something was a rye. But overcoming the antics of a sour women in the the most proper way I could think of, the girls and me started drinking as is the fashion in Germany.
At the great time of 10:30pm we desided to turn in for the night. I know what your thinking those wild abroad college students, staying up to the late hours of 10:30pm. Well you try to run to a bus stop at 6:45am in the morning only to wait at that bus stop for another 20 minutes for your acompanying travelers to arrive slowly walking towards you looking like Bruce Springsteen. Then getting searched at the airport like normal and not enjoying flying. Its much more energy consuming then you might think.
When I came back to the hostel I met my room mates, most of which were sleeping in the room connected to off the other side of the hall from my room. They were nice guys, all English bacheler party. Also all hammered. But the next day was a big one so I was hard pressed to stay awake for their activities.
